FFB WORKSHOP RECAP
Last Thursday at We Are 1976, it was AMAZING to see a full house on hand to hear me speak about my brand and how you could start your own brand.
To start a wild night off, I got up on stage and my mind went TOTALLY blank! After about the longest 30 seconds of my life, I took a deep breathe, gathered up my thoughts and just did my thing. After my presentation and constant tip of nose scratching, I made it through to hear a roaring applause! And the feeling was INCREDIBLE!

Afterwards, I met and chatted with MANY new (and old) friends and fans!

Khalid is a SUPER talented guy! I checked out a book of his art and it blew my mind! But man, I sure wish the website that was on his business card would work so that I could prove to you guys that I'm not lying!

Brian is a new FFB fan! He made the drive out from Denton to hear me speak AND to talk about Jordans.

Support from OG FFB fans! Shogun San and Ericka! It wouldn't be an FFB event without Ericka!

Hoonie and Darren from Adikt came out to show the support and the new iPhone 4! Watch for a special something I'm brewing up with Adikt in the coming weeks!

Brian was pumped after my presentation to get his brand, BASIIK up and running even more! Check it out, it's great stuff! Oh and that's Vi who's next to him. She's pretty cool. Check out this text conversation I had with her yesterday HERE.

Everyone who registered for the workshop got a free FFB Goodie Bag filled with alot of cool shit. Two bags had a coupon for a FREE FFB shirt! All you had to do was look for me after my presentation, the guy below did just that...

These are my new friends, Shleton and Khaleyah. They drove 3 hours from Houston just to see me speak! I was EXTREMELY flattered, so I made sure they stuck around so that I could treat them to dinner afterwards. These two lovers were so gracious and humble! They told me that they learned alot from my presentation and that they were going to use my info to take their brand, RICH GHETTO KIDS to new heights! Check out their line HERE!

I was constantly nervous, but good thing my family was there to support me. Whenever I was feeling lost, I looked straight to the back of the room at my cousin, Vy. Just knowing that she was back there with an attentative ear and constant smile on her face made me feel so much more comfortable. Oh and that guy next to Vy is my future cousin-in-law, Kobe. He's an alright guy. Read our text conversation about Toy Story 3 HERE.

The lucky guy in the middle is Reece. He kept the place loose all night with drinks, drinks and more drinks! My friends Sugarlush provided MEGA TASTEY cupcakes and vitamin water provided us with non-alchoholic refreshment! THANKS REECE! THANKS SUGARLUSH and THANKS VITAMIN WATER!

NO WAY this workshop could've happened without the help of my friends - Derek, Vynsie and Jully aka WE ARE 1976! These people are probably some of the best / easiest people I've EVER worked with. The communication and set up was perfection! We Are 1976 promotes and stimulates the D/FW art / design scene like no other shop around town! I KNOW for a fact that we'll be working together again someday. In the meantime, I'll be swinging by every now and then for fried chicken and sandwich lunches! *HI-FIVE*

And of course...THANKS to YOU for coming out and enduring the 1.5+ hour bombardment of F and SHIT bombs! I got MANY responses from motivated and inspired people after the presentation, here are a few of my favs...

"THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!"

HAVE FUN AND STAY SAFE!
Today, two of my most favorite people in the world, my intern - Angel and his girl, Cara will be making their way to Manila, Philipines for a family summer trip! Angel won't be around for a month and a half and will be deeply missed. It's gonna be pretty tough handling the many BIG events I have planned in July without his tremendous help and enthusiasm, but...

...I know that this trip will do nothing but good for Angel. Traveling helps stimulate the mind and opens up your world to many new outlooks on life and creativity. So I'm expecting to see Angel come back as an EVEN MORE awesome person than he already is!

There's no doubt in my mind that both Angel and Cara will have a blast! There's also no doubt in my mind that Angel (who is a HYPER-EXTREMELY picky eater) will more than likely come back as a straight up skeleton from a Filipino diet.
P.S. Bring me something back (and it has to be badass)!

OUT OF TOWN
Today, I'll be leaving for Denver, Colorado. Why? Because my day job is pretty much forcing me to go to a conference. That means that I'll be away from FFB for a while (4 days).

Since I won't be home to handle orders (or designs, or the blog) until I get back, I'll make a deal with you...
For ANY FFB shirt ordered from now until Wednesday (that's when I come home), I'll add in a FREE random FFB shirt (of equal or lesser value)! Pretty neat, huh? Yea, I kinda thought so too. I'm ALWAYS on point when it comes to mailing out orders, so I'll make 100% sure to ship out all orders as soon as I come home!
I'll try to have fun in Denver, but damn I'm gonna miss working on FFB. Oh well, maybe I can actually get something from this conference to better the brand some more. I'll be sure to jot down plenty of notes (and doodles).
As usual,
I'll still be on my twitter game, so make sure you follow my adventures / non-adventures while I'm in Denver! I'll be seeing you guys when I get back!
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!

A-KON
Yesterday after work, I zoomed on over to the 21st annual A-KON! A-Kon (Anime 'K'onvention) is the longest running anime / manga convention in ALL of North America. I used to frequent A-kon on a yearly basis, then all of a sudden I just stopped, but I figured that it was A MUST to go back this year so that I could continue getting word of my brand out and even more importantly - introduce FFB to a new audience / crowd. So c'mon! Let's check out the wildassness of A-kon!
"Moon Prism Power, Make-up!" (what?)

Don't these two look cute together? Indeed.

Cool. Elf ears.

"Who wants a Beggin Strip?"

Final Fantasy heads were all over the place. Lulu and Yuna. They were probably taking a break from battling Lady Yunalesca. That shit can take forever.

Squall and Selphie from FF VIII.

I don't know what characters these girls were, they just have very nice.........faces.

Ooooh...Katamari!

"Damn girl! I'll call you later, FFB is about to take my pic! Tee-hee!"

Doesn't this guy look like he wants to eat you?

Look at this girl's smile, isn't her smile great? Her smile really made my day. I love smiles.

There's one in every crowd.

Goth or vampire? Either way, HOT.

Inuyasha with the value sized FELINE FLAVORED Ramen Noodles.

While at A-kon, I ran into my buddy Derek from We Are 1976! For the rest of the time there, I hung out with Derek as we continued relishing in pure awesomeness of the nerdy / dorky! INDUBITABLY!

And speaking of We Are 1976, did you know that at towards the end of this month (June 24), I'll be having a workshop there on...

YES! Me! I! THE Fur Face Boy will be letting you know of all of my tips, tricks and secrets on how to start your own t-shirt brand! This is just an early heads up! Look for more details as the date draws near. In the meantime, you can RSVP a spot on We Are 1976 Facebook Event Page and also read more HERE at We Are 1976's website!
Me and the gang at We Are 1976 have something special up our sleeves too, so watch both the We Are 1976 blog and THIS BLOG for more details / updates soon to come!
Anyways back to A-kon....it ruled. It's also going on until the end of this weekend. So check it out if you get the chance! One more thing...I have more pictures from the day HERE on my Facebook. Bye.

EMPLOYEE FUN DAY
Over the Memorial Day weekend, I thought it'd be cool to take my two Interns, Angel (right) and Dave (left) out on a fun day out. Angel and Dave do an EXTREMELY wonderful job helping me out with events, ideas and constantly letting people know about Fur Face Boy. I don't make enough to pay them...yet, so instead, I pay them with a few shirts here and there, food and of course...GOOD TIMES! C'mon, we're going to Six Flags!

Dave is a roller coaster FREAK! He used to work at Six Flags, so he knew the whole layout like the back of his hand. As for Angel, this was his FIRST TIME at Six Flags. Angel has NEVER rode a roller coaster in his life! So what we did at first was just scope out the scene.
Me and Dave figured that The Acme Rock-N-Ride would be a good ice breaker ride for Angel. Angel stared at it for a few minutes and then backed out of it saying he wanted to ride something else. Me and Dave said..."Alrght, if you back out of this you have to ride Titan then." Then Angel says..."OK. I'll potentially ride it."

In search of Angel's first ever roller coaster ride, we ran into Wonder Woman AND Batman! Cool huh?! Yea, I know...not really.

Angel's first ride was The Batman! We sat on the front train and although Angel was nervous as hell, he made it through! We were all very proud of him! Right afterwards, we rode the Flashback, Angel breezed through it like a champ!
With Angel's first time jitters out of the way, we were on our way to ride a few more rides...

The Superman?

After some thought, we all thought..."Neh."

Instead, we hit up the Titan! It looks like Angel will be manning up to his end of the deal!

But HE DIDN'T! After about an hour wait in the TItan line, Angel backed out at the very last second! I was nervous as shit and when I saw Angel backing out and heading towards the exit, I was gonna back out too! But it was too late, I was already locked into my seat. F ...

I made it out alive. Angel was the smart one while I was the dumb one. Dave is just plain crazy.
Although the day was HORRIFICLY hot, MEGA pricey and the lines were INSANELY long, we all had a good time hanging out, clowning around and talking life. It was good times for acouple of really good guys! If any of you ever see Angel or Dave around, let them know that I, THE Fur Face Boy really appreciate all of their help. Once I get this payroll thing figured out, I'll make that $5.15 an hour wage for you guys a reality.
Until the next(?) FFB Employe Fun Day...
