FUR FACE BOY X CENTRE
FFB Series III is ready, set, go, Go, GO! This Saturday, May 1st (TOMORROW!) join me and my good friends over at CENTRE for the Official Fur Face Boy Series III Release Party! Be there for FREE live music (we have many great acts set to perform all day - Read HERE), FREE food, FREE drinks and even some FREE Fur Face Boy goodies. YES! ALL FREE! Things start at 1 pm until whenever, but be TOTALLY sure to show up early to get your hands on the SUPER LIMITED (Only 40) FFB x CENTRE collaboration EXCLUSIVE! Here, have a looksy and take a readsky...

FFB X CENTRE - When I sat down and talked about creating a collab shirt with Centre, the premise was simple: Come up with a design that represented both our brands in an obvious, clear and dynamic way! We first came up with a few looks that were TOO straight forward, I mean they would've easily worked but we wanted it to have more umph, y'know? We wanted that dynamic aspect we were craving for. We then remembered that Chuck Anderson aka NoPattern designed the original Centre logo. Chuck Anderson has an EXTREMELY impressive body of work that includes Nike, ESPN, Google and even Lupe Fiasco! (He designed the 'Food and Liquor' album art.)
Influenced / inspired by Chuck Anderson, we then decided to create a galactal spectrum and drop it in the FFB face. Still missing something, we tied in Centre's heavy influence of 'lines' to back drop the FFB to add more depth / contrast. The end result was what we intended from the get go - a DYNAMIC, obvious and easily recognizable collaboration!

To stay consistent with the FFB brand, this shirt also has a sleeve print, but this time, with a slight modification.

The collaborative inside size print is a pretty cool detail. This is the first FFB shirt to have a screen printed size rather than a label.

REMEMBER! There are only 40 of these exclusive collabs and the only place to find it is at the Series III Release Party this Saturday (May 1st) at CENTRE!
REMINDER NOTES! Read more about the Series III line up HERE and more about Release Party details and performances HERE. And don't forget to RSVP HERE. I'll see YOU tomorrow!

FUR FACE BOY SERIES III LINE UP
Fur Face Boy Series III FINALLY makes it's debut this Saturday! Here's a closer look and a small story / reasoning to each shirt design...
FFB ELEPRINT - What do you think of when you think of the number 3? 3’s Company? 3D? John Starks? The 3 Stooges? Third Eye Blind? 3-peat? Repeat 3-peat? Not me, usually when I think of the number 3, I think of the Air Jordan III! Which is one of my favorite pairs of Air Jordans! I always loved the elephant print on the III’s and I really love FFB, so I figure I mix them together and this is what I got…

TYPEFACE III - The FFB typeface evolves every series! This time with the eleprint.

THE FANTASTIC FUR - I have the abilities to stretch my body into any desired form, turn invisible, turn my body into a mass of flames, and am rock hard! But my most powerful ability of all is making T-shirts! Take that Super Skrull!

FFB MARVEL - Anyone who has any type of comic book collection, whether it's the long box of comics or a shoe box full of comics SHOULD know the inspiration behind this design...(Hmmm…I think I said the same thing in the Series 2 line up. Yea, I DID!)

LITTLE FFB - I’ve always been a fan of Nintendo's 1987 classic, Punch-Out! I loved all of the characters from Glass Joe to Piston Honda, Great Tiger to Bald Bull, Soda Popinski to Super Macho Man! But out of all the badass characters my favorite was Little Mac! Just playing as the little underdog and whooping on these bigass giants made me feel so radical!
So one day, me and my friend, Shogun John were having a few drinks and talking then all of a sudden John blurts out…”I’m gonna do a Punch-Out shirt for you! It’s gonna be badass!” and I was like “Cool. Yea man, that’d be awesome.” Next thing you know, John works his magic and (START) Punch….LITTLE FFB! Isn’t John the shit? Yea, I know.

FFB BAM! - I based this design off pop artist, Roy Lichtenstein’s “Sweet Dreams Baby!” I’ve always been fascinated with Lichtenstein’s work because he was essentially a comic book / commercial artist who was a gallery icon.
Anyways, for those who don’t know, alot of people underestimate me and I can’t lie…alot of times I want to bash them right in their F ING face (but I can’t, so I’m going to do it through this T-shirt). People’s first impressions of me always seem to be that I can’t achieve. They tend to overlook me or look away. They never give me a chance or give up on me. They don’t believe in my drive, my passion, my will, commitment and heart. This design is dedicated to all of those who never believed in me. The ones who gave up on me, looked away, laughed at my ideas and never gave me a chance. I’m one who believes in proving wrong. And with FFB, I WILL prove them wrong. “Never Underestimate the FFB!”
Was that too deep? If so...*BAM!*

FFB WHIP IT! - I was bored one Saturday night and decided to watch 80’s music videos til like 3am. I clearly remember watching THIS, THIS and THIS all back to back to back. Then I decided to do up this shirt. CAHH-RACK THAT WHIP!

LICENSED TO FFB - No sleep til…………………………………………………………………… FUR FACE BOY! “My job's ain't a job - it's a damn good time!”

FFB FANCY - I was walking around a high end shopping district and saw a bunch of people rocking Gucci and LV bags, belts, wallets and other shit. I then thought to myself...”I wonder if I could ever make FFB high class?” This is my attempt at it. When you see the shirt in person you’ll realize that the design is metallic silver! Also notice the “Tiffany” color scheme. Damn, I wanna eat some caviar now. You?

FFB PLAY BALL! - Since this is my Spring / Summer line up, baseball themed tee’s were a definite MUST! I used the red, white and blue color scheme NO! Not because the Rangers are my favorite team (ugh), but because baseball is the Great American Past Time! That, plus my mom said she liked that colorway. WHAT?!

FFB RAGLAN - I love Baseball raglan shirts. I used to buy bunches of them at thrift stores. Baseball raglans are cool. And so are thrift stores. That’s it, I guess.

So there you have it, FUR FACE BOY SERIES III. What 'ya think? I personally have to say that this is my most favorite series as of yet! Releasing two previous series before, I’ve really learned ALOT. This time around I’ve gotten a better handle on quantities, so there will be NO MORE reprinting and everything is WAY MORE limited. And instead of 2 screen printers, I used only 1! So all of the shirt prints are ALL consistent. I have woman’s tees too, but printed less than before, knowing that my woman’s tees aren't the greatest of sellers. The quality has jumped 10x and things are just going to keep getting better and better!
I appreciate all of the love and support that YOU have shown my brand! The fanbase grows by the month and it really puts me into absolute awe! I started FFB as an outlet to simply be happy BUT I’m not quite 100% happy just yet. So, I’m going to continue getting the word out, working hard and continue doing it BIG! Stick with me and together we’ll make it to the top. Here’s to FFB Series III!
Series III will be available THIS MONDAY at 12am at the FFB webstore.
AND HEY!
Have you heard? Me and my good friends CENTRE will be having the release party this Saturday, May 1 from 1pm - Close. MY WEEKEND
Over the weekend I headed out to Tampa, Florida to visit my friend HOPE for her 20th birthday. While I was in Florida attending this VERY IMPORTANT day, I trusted my family and friends with the Fur Face Boy table at the World of Dance Dallas Tour stop. Let's check out some highlights from a extremely fun / busy weekend...
Angel was in charge of pictures and from the pictures I got from him, the World of Dance was a packed house!

And as was Hope's Birthday!

At the World of Dance, my cousin, Vy and my interns Angel and Dave did a spectacular job of making sales and pushing the Fur Face Boy Brand! They told me of the MANY cool things they witnessed and the MANY people they met at the event!

And I told them of the MANY cool things I witnessed and the MANY people that I met at Hope's birthday!

A BIG THANK YOU to Vy, Angel and Dave for holding down the Fur Face Boy table and representing proudly at the World of Dance! I am very proud of ALL three of you! I have to admit, I was very nervous / worried of how things would turn out with me not being there, but I knew I could trust you guys to handle the job! You three did way more than I expected and I know that I will always be able to trust and count on you guys when needed! As Fur Face Boy continues to grow, I'm realizing that I can't always do it solo, so again - THANK YOU to my FFB TEAM - Vy, Angel and Dave! (Also, Dave is OFFICIALLY FFB Intern #2!)

And another BIG THANK YOU to Hope and her family! For the whole entire weekend they welcomed me into their home with open arms! They let me stay at their home, fed me LOADS of food, let me borrow their car when needed and took me out on fun family outtings! After everything this family has been through, it's an incredible feeling to know that they would allow me into their home and treat me like family. THANK YOU for all the great memories, fun stories, laughs, food, love and trust! I'm missing all of you guys all over again. I WILL be back!

TRUST. It's a HUGE characteristic. It's the basis to just about every relationship. Without it, nothing could ever succeed. A fews years ago, my life took a turn to where I trusted NO ONE. I called bullshit on just about anything anyone would say or do for me. But with alot of time to myself, I realized that I had to trust myself before I could trust others. So with time, I've steadily learned to trust again. I make sure to develop a tight circle of family and friends while fending off sneaky / cheating, ass kissing, full of shit, coattail riding-scumbags. That's why I love meeting my vendors and all the shops that carry FFB. It's all about trust. And it's not just a Fur Face Boy thing, but it's also a Ha Mai (that's me) thing. HERE'S TO TRUST! More powerful than love? Hmmmm....?

WORLD OF DANCE
This Saturday, April 24 - Fur Face Boy will set up shop at the World of Dance Tour, Dallas stop at the Palladium! Need to know more about the World of Dance and what it is? Then just read this description I stole straight from their site (what?)...
The World of Dance Tour is the largest U.S. Urban Dance Competition taking place in 9 major markets across the nation. With focus on the art of street dancing and today’s new aged choreography, World of Dance is the largest touring event embracing Urban Dance and Youth Lifestyle. The countries top dance troupes, hundreds of participants, and thousands of spectators will partake in performance festival settings, awarding today’s top dancer’s with the most prestigious acknowledgements. The World of Dance Tour promises to deliver an unparalleled experience to both participants and spectators in effort to build the reputation as the Nation’s authority in Urban Dance and Lifestyle.

And here's a cool trailer video of all the excitement that is expected to happen...
For this event, my family and friends -Vy, Angel and Dave will be runnig the FFB table. Why? Because I WON'T be able to attend. Fur Face Boy is my baby and I feel super uncomfortable not being at this event (this will be the first time I'm not at a FFB happening), but I put TOTAL TRUST AND BELIEF that Vy, Angel and Dave will be giving it their ABSOLUTE ALL to let everyone know about FFB!
So why won't I be attending the World of Dance Tour? Well, though it's VERY important to me, I have an EVEN MORE IMPORTANT event to attend this weekend...
I'll be heading back to Tampa, FL to attend the BIRTHDAY PARTY of my good friend, HOPE! Read more about Hope HERE.

Hope's mom invited me to join the fun during my last visit to Tampa and I promised to be there! And that I WILL! So as I'm partying it up with Hope and her family this weekend in Florida, make sure you guys head out to the World of Dance Dallas stop to party it up at the Fur Face Boy table with Vy, Angel and Dave! (Click their names to get familiar with there faces!)

SUITCASE TOUR - DALLAS
A couple of days ago Johnny Cupcakes made his 11th stop to Dallas (Home of the Cowboys AND Fur Face Boy) for his Nationwide Suitcase Tour. C'mon, let's check out the madness...

JC fans started lining up at 10:00am at We Are 1976. Fans created cardboard fortresses to shield themselves from the super bright / super hotass Texas sun!

I showed up at like 7pm and the line was already DAMN THICK.

As expected, Johnny Cupcake heads were ALL OVER THE PLACE!

I thought this kid looked kinda like JC as a kid. See for yourself and compare HERE.

I saw many Fur Face Boy fans in line too...like Jessica! Jessica's a HUMONGO JC AND FFB fan!

Jessica actually wore BOTH, a JC AND FFB shirt! And it was HOT AS F ! Jessica's a true diehard! Too awesome!

It's ALWAYS such an amazing feeling when I see someone wearing a FFB shirt.

Stebs, JC's videographer even approves!

I never had a place in line, instead I tried to talk (and think I actually did) to EVERYONE waiting in line. We talked about of course, Johnny Cupcakes, the slushies the good folks at We Are 1976 were passing out, the dead raccoon in the alley (that smelled like SHIT F S!), I passed out some buttons, obviously took some pictures, shared some of my secret stories and talked Fur Face Boy! It was a cool feeling to know that MANY people in line had already heard about my brand. Dallas - damn, I love you.

Eventually I did make it inside.

Inside, I met my new friend, Vynsie (who I met just a few days prior) and Derek! They are the awesome owners of We Are 1976. Both are super friendly and so easy to talk to. I even got to talk about Vynsie's dog that I forgot to talk about the last time I saw her. Anyways, I can't get over the vibe of the shop. I LOVE IT! I'll definitely be heading out there way more often to pick up more comics and zines! You can read a small bio about Vynsie HERE and Derek HERE.

After picking up a few Suitcase Tour Tees, I met my buddy Johnny Cupcakes again. As usual, we talked about life, da biz and yucked it up.

I came with a few friends of mine and we ALL had a blast hanging out with Johnny. It was like 1am, we were pretty much the last people there and Johnny still was alive and kicking, making sure he talked to EVERYONE who waited in line to meet him. We hung out, joked around, took pictures, he did magic tricks and he even bought my friend, Dave a shirt for his Birthday!

Johnny barely seemed tired and he was to head on out to Phoenix that same night immediately after he left Dallas. It's so obvious and so clear that he simply loves and is passionate about his brand that it automatically keeps him going. It's remarkable. I'm proud to say that I learned from THE best in the T-shirt game. THE. BEST. Johnny continues to inspire me everytime I meet him. He's living proof that if you're passionate about something and work at achieving your goals that YES, you can make it happen!
Throughout the night, I found myself stepping back and looking at the longass JC line thinking to myself that maybe, just maybe Fur Face Boy could have this one day. Then I looked at the available space right next door to We Are 1976 and thought the same thing. So many possibilties, so much I want to make happen and I know I can! Today I see 5 or 6 Fur Face Boy shirts in a line and maybe, just maybe one day a WHOLE LINE FULL of Fur Face Boy shirts in line! Johnny says he's proud of me and to keep doing what I'm doing. AND THAT I will DEFINITEY keep doing!
Oh yea, Johnny also appreciated me helping him spread word of his Tour in Dallas that he UNEXPECTEDLY out of the blue gave me a a little special something. What could it be? A personalized note? Tickets to the NBA Finals? Money? Coupons to the buffet? Airline tickets? Sticks of joke gum? You figure it out. Bwaahahahaha!

THANKS JOHNNY! Until we meet again...click HERE.

JC IN BIG D
I got to know Johnny Cupcakes abit when I attended one of his lectures back in 2008. It was so inspiring that I went to another one just a few months ago (click on the links to read about my experiences). Anyways, after getting to know Johnny abit more, he asked if I could help him out by distributing his latest Cupcake Chronicle - The Suitcase Tour Issue! (Read more about the Suitcase Tour HERE) I said..."Sure!" and the next thing you know, Johnny sends me a big box full of Suitcase Tour Cupcake Chronicles!

I'm a BIG JC fan. I don't just have my own line, but I'm also a HUGE fan of many other brands and T-shirts (look for a future blog post later this month and you'll see...). Here's how excited I was when I heard JC was gonna swing through my city - THE GREATNESS OF DALLAS, TX! P.S. You can go ahead and just ignore the last half of this text conversation.

Before the event draws near, within the month, I just kept all of those Cupcake Chronicles in my car. So wherever I went, the Chronicles came along with me! I've had some 'literature distributing' experience under my belt before from when I used to distribute my own personal zine around town, doing this reminded me of the fun times I had distributing. Anyways, the first load was dropped off at my friend, Chris' shop...Good Records.

While distributing the Cupcake Chronicles, I made some new friends...Tony and Lauren from Kid Robot...

...Richard at Zeus Comics!

And of course, I crossed some old friends too...Keith at Shogun...

...and Philip at Centre!

I even distributed some outside of Dallas. Like when I was in San Antonio for the Sneakerpalooza event.

Or when I was at the Nice Kicks shop in Austin when I hand delivered their first Fur Face Boy order. OH HEY! What's up Matt?!

The Real Street Jam event a few weeks back even got some JC love!

Even though Index already had some Cupcake Chronicles, I figured..."What the hell, take some more!" BONUS! I picked up some P. Rod 2's for a mere $50! Thanks Reidglaze!

Darren from Adikt loved his copy of the Cupcakes Chronicles! "Psssst....look for FFB to be in Adikt soon! Shhhh....don't be blabbing to the whole world now, ok?"

Keith from Keith's Comics used his Cupcake Chronicle as a super hero mask! Ooooooooh...the intrigue!

I even distributed some at Lone Star Comics (Yes, I know. I am a dork.), in Arlington, TX! Christian tells me that he saw an advance screening of Kick-ass and that it was..."KICK-ASS!" Hmmmm....I will be the judge of that this Friday!

I then rounded the distribution some by dropping a few off at my old Universtiy...UT Arlington! I felt so old walking around there, so I made it quick.

And finally, I decided to check out the location where the Suitcase Tour was actually going to be held at - We Are 1976! It's a VERY cool shop filled with loads of awesome art, design, comics, toys, vinyl figures, cutesy Japanese stuff and so much more! I met one of the shop owners, Vynsie! We talked about of course Johnny Cupcakes, Jeffrey Brown, graphic design, screen printing, the DSVC, Jeff Barfoot, Brian Flynn, the concept / look of the shop, her dad being a teacher, Hong Kong and she even gave me some relationship advice! She was so nice and made for such great company! I probably could've stood and talked to her all day. I mean, SHIT! I didn't even get to ask about her dog that was behind the counter! I'll make it a point to ask next time...

...which will be THIS Wednesday, April 14th at 8pm!

I plan on coming out right after I get off work, so I'll be showing up as (that's my real name if you didn't know), NOT as Fur Face Boy. I'll be lining up at the back of what I DEFINITELY believe will be one MASSIVEASS line, taking in this awesome experience and hopefully chatting it up with you about all the radness that is Johnny Cupcakes! AND! Since I'll be going as , who knows...I might rock my JNCOs. I'll be seeing you guys and hopefully Johnny himself, THIS Wednesday at We Are 1976! Say it with me now..."JOHNNY! JOHNNY! JOHNNY! JOHNNY!"

AARON CASTELLANOS
Last night, me, my intern - Angel (right) and my temp help - Dave (left), met Aaron Castellanos (middle). Being a BIG FFB supporter and having his own line, Aphesis Clothing - Aaron one day, out of the blue contacted me via Twitter to see if I was free for dinner to hang out and to take some time to talk about our brands. I agreed...

...and we instantly hit it off. Aaron told me the deep story behind Aphesis and I told him the deep story about FFB. The passion I heard and felt from Aaron as he described his brand was obvious. He said he felt the same passion when I talked about my brand. While me and Aaron were going at it with our brands, I could even over-hear BOTH Angel and Dave talking about creating something based off heir passions / loves too!
I've met SO MANY people wanting to start their own line within the last year, some think it's easy, some think it's a breeze, some start it just to brag..."Yea, I own my own line." while others start it to 'instantly' make money - THOSE are the ones who will ultimately fail.
The ones who work hard, put in the time, plan, take risks and do it off their passion / their love - THOSE are the ones who have the inside track on succeeding. They understand that it's not a given and that it takes a massive amount of work to get it. And how they get it is ALL up to that particular person. EVERYONE at dinner agreed that ANYONE could do ANYTHING they wanted to do, so long as their passion and drive was intact. I say this all the time to people I meet..."The only thing stopping you from doing what you want to accomplish is...yourself."
I admit, I DEFINITELY DON'T have all the answers to a succecssful brand. I mean, SHIT! I'm still living with my mom, sweat over bank overdraft charges and drive a low-end Scion! But I just continue to run things the way I want to and how I want to. Those reasons alone make me already feel pretty damn successful. BIG THANKS to Aaron for an inspiring / motivating dinner meet up. I'm really glad you reached out to me. We'll definitely meet up again soon. Next time dinner's on Angel or Dave.
SIDE NOTES: We ate at Campisi's. I met Aaron after my dayjob, so I didn't have my camera. Obviously, I used my iPhone camera. We ate a Large "All the Way" pizza. We also had Calamari for an appetizer. Angel had a Sprite, Dave a Dr. Pepper, Aaron a tea and I had a water.
