FUR FACE BOY SERIES 2 LINE UP
Fur Face Boy Series 2 FINALLY makes it's whole debut this weekend! Here's a closer look and a small story / reasoning to each shirt design...
FFB CMYK - I decided to revamp the original logo shirt by taking away the "Fur Face Boy" tag and moving it to the left sleeve. Hoping that the "face" logo is a bit more established / iconic now, I thought it was time for it to be stand alone on the front - BIGGER and definitely BOLDER. "Why such the loud color scheme" you ask? Well, I wanted to take a bit from my graphic design roots and use the colors of "color printing" - CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) to make the face logo stand out EVEN more. Besides that, the CMYK color combo looks so cool.

TYPEFACE 2 - I plan on having a new logo and typreface shirt for every series, so for Series 2, I switched from blue to now magenta. But here's the kicker...this shirt GLOWS IN THE DARK! Don't act like I never told ya!

THE AMAZING FFB - My most favorite comic book hero of all-time IS the web head. Even though he's had some bad moments in his time line ie: this, this, this and this to me, he's still that wise-cracking, world saving, mama's (I mean auntie's) boy we've ALL grown to know and love.

FFB COMICS - Anyone who has any type of comic book collection, whether it's the long box of comics or a shoe box full of comics SHOULD know the inspiration behind this design...

BEARMAIBRICK - It was definitely time for the OG FFB to get his due. How could I not dedicate a shirt to THE brand name? What do you think Bear Mai?

FFB NEW WAVE - I grew up in the 80's where Patrick Nagel's art / design ruled. I remember everytime I would get a fade (I get my cuts from Asian barbers), the front window graphics would ALWAYS have Nagel art! I don't have any pictures to prove this, but I swear I would see it all the time! Forever inmbedded in my brain, maybe that's the reasoning for why I wanted to make this design...well, that plus growing to eventually become a graphic designer, I've come to really like / appreciate Nagel's art and design. And to stick to the designs truly inspired 80's-ness, notice the Miami Vice color scheme.

FFB TRUE BLUE - In July, for KIXPO, I designed a shirt based off MY Air Jordan III, blk / cements - the shirt was limited to only 36 and SOLD OUT! A month later, Jordan III True Blues released - sadly, only as an international release...anyways, I figured, what the hell...I'm gonna design a True Blue FFB. TA-DA!

FFB MICHAEL - My mom tells me of a tale when I used to stick Michael Jackson stickers all over myself before I went out to the front yard and play with my brothers and other neighborhood kids. The neighborhood kids thought I was SO cool that they'd follow me around outside AND back into my house! Before there was Justin, Usher, Chris Brown, all those boy bands, Snoop Dogg, Kanye or whoever there was Michael...the one and only King of Pop. DAMMIT, neighborhood kids - can you please just BEAT IT, it's almost my bed time. HoooOoOo-Ooooo-ooooo-hooooOooo!

CFFB - Last year, during some bad times, I not only started doing my own art / design again, but I also read alot of books on graphic design. I picked up this old book I found on European graphic designers, one group of designers really caught my eye - Theo Crosby / Alan Fletcher / Colin Forbes. Their layouts, typography and identity sets blew me away. Having Crosby, Fletcher and Forbes now set in my mind, I decided to base a design off a set of poster's they created for Lyons Teashops. Oh yea, Crosby / Fletcher / Forbes became the founders of the greatest design studio on the planet - Pentagram.

HEY GABBA FFB - I love, love, LOVE the Ramones song "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" who wouldn't? And who does want to grow up? I'd rather...
Stay around in my old hometown
I don't wanna put no money down
I don't wanna get a big old loan
Work them fingers to the bone
I don't wanna float on a broom
Fall in love, get married then boom
How the hell did it get here so soon
No, I don't wanna grow up
That plus the fact that I like how the Ramones love comic books and ALWAYS sport a comic character shirt. Man, so cool.

FFB BASEBALL - Baseball's kinda cool, I guess. Shit man, truth is...I just wanted a shirt with numbers on it (for some reason, I just really like shirts with numbers on it) and something on BOTH sleeves. THERE! You happy? I know I am.

FFB PATTERN - Going here and going there, I noticed today's youth really loves purple comboed with teal. ALOT. Thus, this design. I originally designed this shirt just to fill out the rest of the series, but then I got it back from the printer and loved it! It's surprisingly one of my favorite FFB's and hopefully will be one of yours too!

Due to popular demand - ALL shirts will also be in a ladie's cut! Speaking of the ladies, I also designed a ladie's exclusive: FFB's DO IT BETTER - I just wanted the ladies to remind EVERYONE that Fur Face Boys indeed, do DO IT BETTER. Am I right? Huh? Huh? YEA! That's what I thought.

So there you have it, FUR FACE BOY SERIES 2. What 'ya think? I personally like it more than Series 1. I mean I really love Series 1 just cause it's y'know...the designs that started everything, but I really love Series 2 because things seem to be more refined. Anyways, shirts will be available THIS FRIDAY at 12am at the FFB webstore.
